Remember Me?!

Well, what a month - WHEW!! Thanksgiving was insane, but glorious. We attempted gingerbread houses which was a blast and good for a laugh (thanks to K and her flop of a house - I made it and J helped her (his hands in pic) so don't blame the kid!).

I managed to finish one red snake. (More info on the scarf here)

And one gold & black hat.
PATTERN: Tychus, the short-row beanie from Knitty (adapted)
YARN: Lion Brand Wool-Ease in the gold and the black (I don't remember the real names)
NEEDLES: #6 straight aluminum needles
START: 11-23-05
COMPLETE: 11-25-05

LOVED: Okay, I simply LOVED making this pattern. I can't wait to do another one (already have a request for "BYU colors" ... I also have to admit that it was kind of fun to use straight aluminums again for the first time in awhile. Also, I LOVE this yarn. I can't get enough of it.

HATED: Hmmm... I really hated nothing. Gauge was a little tricky cause I sized it down for a child. I doubled the yarn as per the pattern, but I went down to #6 needles and only did three patterns instead of five (and then stitched the top so it wasn't as "cone-shaped").

I haven't finished the Weasley ("F" Sweater below). I'm shooting for Christmas.

It is snowing here and I say, "let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!" Snow is always allowed between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Then it should be gone. Until next year. Seriously.

The count down is on to Disneyland. EIGHTEEN DAYS!!!! I can't wait. Splash Mountain, here I come!!!! I would live at Disneyland if they would let me. They won't. I've asked.

  1. Oh what fun, Gbread houses! I was never very sucessful at making those, so I make sure to always eat the evidence!!
Did you make the "F" sweater? it's very cute.
& Dland is my very place too. I haven't been yet this year, cannot face the 50th crowds. I used to go 2 or 3 times a year for 4 or 5 days at a time. I don't plan on asking if I can move in there, I am just going to move into Mr Toads house & hope they don't find me!

I always wanted to live in an apartment above Main Street - over any of the shops!!

Yes, I made the F Sweater. It's not quite complete, though.... K isn't very happy with me (as you can see by the look on her face).

I always wanted to enter the Good Housekeeping magazine gingerbread house contest. Only problem is I've never ever made a gingerbread house! Maybe one day. Enjoy Disneyland! Take an extra ride on Pirates of the Carribean for me :)

I love the snake -- every time! I just finished the Tychus hat and enjoyed the pattern, too. I ended up felting it, hubby wanted it that way and it turned out well. How did you make it less cone shaped?

Sounds like you are having a busy and fun season. :)

We were at Disneyland in July. Fast Passes for Splash Mountain went fast and the line was always really long. I would try to get those passes early so you have a chance of going on it during the day. Splash Mountain was the second to last ride we went on at Disneyland. My 6 year old loved it, my 4 year old did not. She was still talking about how much she didn't like Splash Mountain weeks later. :) Have fun at Disneyland!

I'm a Disneyland FREAK. We've been several times with our children. We always go in December because as long as it's not the week between Christmas and New Year's, the lines are MUCH MUCH shorter. Plus, for those CA people - it's COLD and so they don't ride Splash Mountain much. Last time we were there we got to go on it over and over and over - the rule is you have to get off and go through the line again even if there's nobody waiting, so we'd run as fast as we could and get back on.

    Ahhhh... good times!!

We have a five day hopper pass and I've never been to CA so I'm looking forward to it!!

Becky - your felted hat looks FAB!! Great colors!!

Sharon - Pirates is one of my favorites, but after the movie I hope it's not too much of a let down... (no Johnny Depp!!)

    Sharon says:

Pirates has been my favorite ever since my first trip to Disneyland as a kid. Ever since then I think of it when firefly season hits here. And I can always pull out my Don Juan De Marco or Chocolat dvd if I need a Johnny Depp fix :p

Just giving you grief. Peter Pan was my favorite when I was very young, then Pirates of the Carribean (I see a pirate theme... hmmm..) - but then Splash Mountain came around and I was hooked.

I seriously think it's because, even when I was young, I always wanted those dips in POTC to be really L O N G! lol

Love Chocolat - and POTC (the movie and the ride). I can't wait to see the sequels.
