I am married to a geek.

And BOY am I glad. J found a gizmo to help me get the pictures on my computer. I love that guy!!!!!

So, because I can copy pictures - I took quite a few. The first couple of pictures are the mitred bag I'm working on. I would be long finished except that I ran out of the pink. I only have a TINY bit left to knit. I hate it when that happens!!! But, I love the yarn - especially the pink - so I'm sure I'll find a use for the rest of the skein.

Now, a tour of my kitchen - specifically for my friend, Donna! My kitchen is pretty much the original from the 50s. It needs (?) updated, because as much as I am okay with doing dishes by hand - there are times it would be nice to have a dishwasher. I love everything about it. I love that I can close it off from the rest of the house if it's ever dirty.

I love the old hand-made drapes (see the shadow of Shadow?!).

I love the colors of the golds and browns. It is so warm and inviting. I love the yellow windows that I can see my china through.

The art/poetry in the frames is from the 1961 edition of Vol. 1 of the Childcraft series. The poems are "The Cupboard" (January poem 19 if you click it) and "Animal Crackers" (February poem 09) and the artwork is incredible! It is one of my very favorite books in all the world.

The plate was given to my mother when I was born. When I had my daughter, Mom passed it down to me. I love the quote. (click on it to read it)

And, of course, my vintage stove. I LOVE this stove. It warms up wonderfully and stays warm. It is very economical - it seals SO tight. Plus, it's just really cool to look at.

Thank God for dirty dishes
They have a tale to tell
While others may go hungry
We're eating very well!
