Do you like those odds? Those are the odds that you will be struck by lightning at some point in your life. I HATE LIGHTNING. I'm not sure if it was growing up on the desert with its wild displays of lightning or what the deal is, but I am absolutely terrified of lightning. What brings this up? Well, I'm glad you asked. Last night we had quite the display here in Logan. What does my dh do? He mocks me and then goes for a walk WITH MY DAUGHTER in the middle of the lightning storm. Apparently he hasn't read the facts.

I sat in the middle of my living room knitting (with the new beautiful yarn I bought yesterday). Don't worry, I used bamboo needles!

What are you afraid of?

What do you do when you're afraid?

PS - Thanks, Candi for playing Scrabble last night - let's play again tonight!!!!

I do need to add a note that I had dreams all night about alligators - which is my other fear. Probably a lot more unrealistic since I've never ever lived where there are alligators.

I know what I'm afraid of, but I don't like to talk about it. I read when I'm afraid (or, becouse of what my worst fear is, I listen to Books on Tape or call my friends). I'm also afraid of sharks, but my dreams that I'm swimming with them don't really scare me, becouse no one gets eaten.

I'm afraid of being in deep water when I'm at the beach, so I stick to wading in the surf. And for some weird reason I love the fastest, wildest rides at amusement parks but am scared of the slow ones like the tram cars where you leisurely dangle over a height.... spin me, hurl me, upend me, but don't just float me in space. I love thunder and lightening storms, the closer the better. If I'm afraid I'll read or listen to music.

The Hill Street memory cracked me up, Can. I'm busy for a bit longer - but if you want to plan on 9:00 or so my time (if that's not too late for you?) that would be good. Just had a great conversation with Aunt Eleanor - about (what else?) knitting!

I had a scary dream about vampires. Rob and his friend Anthony were pretending to be vampires in my dream, and it scared me, but then suddenly a vam. bat flew in and bit them both, and they turned into real vam., then they bit my cat and my dog and they all went after me. It was scary.
    Weird, but scary.

Katie, don't be worried about telling your fears. We all have them - Gam's right and you don't need to, but you don't have to worry bout telling us (unless that's your fear, of course)... hmm... lol

No, my two are just kind of embarassing. It's not like snakes or something, but something kind of dumb.
    Oh, another of my fears...

    CLOWNS!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    (Cough) I'm okay now.

    Dumber than lightning and alligators/crocodiles?????

Good, so I'm not the only one who isn't crazy about clowns! I actually took a clown class years ago thinking maybe I'd come to like them better. Didn't work, all I gained was the know how to put makeup on so it won't come off short of industrial strength cleaner. One way I deal with fears sometimes is to take a deep breath and jump in headfirst. I got into radio because I was annoyed at my fear of speaking in front of people and so started taking radio and speech classes. I still don't enjoy it, but I can do it.

I am apparently afraid of "not being good enough" - Interesting.
